Santorini is without a doubt the most beautiful place I have ever visited. This was my first time in Greece and I knew it wouldn’t disappoint. We stayed at the El Greco Resort Hotel in Fira which was absolutely stunning. We were a 10-minute walk into Fira town where the caldera view is. The caldera side of the island has the most breathtaking views of the sunsets; the picture above says it all! Fira is the capital of the island and has a variety of Greek restaurants, local shops and museums. We spent a week on the island and definitely saw as much as we could. We booked onto an excursion with our hotel to visit the north side of the island which included the Santo Wines winery, “Old Town” Santorini, and the oldest Church in Santorini. The Santo Wines winery is one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever seen, all you could see was blue sky and blue seas for miles. The winery is a popular wedding venue and I can completely see why, tying the knot there would be absolutely idyllic. Santorini is a very volcanic island and still has an active volcano you can climb, we chose to do this as part of a all-day boat trip. The trip included a few hours on the volcanic island, a visit to the hot springs and a trip to an exclusive beach. I think we exhausted every part of Santorini as there are so many places to visit, the most popular and my favourites were: Fira, Oia, Imerovigli and Karami.
